Pastor Greg DeBoer

Originally a native of Brandon, WI, my family and I moved to Independence in the summer of 2013.  Prior to serving Immanuel, I served at Christ Lutheran in Pickrell, NE.  I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh and my Master of Divinity degree from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg.  I have lived in 5 different states and one (supposedly) haunted house.

My wife, Gina, and I were married in 1996 and have four children - Evan is married to Katelyn and they just had our first grandson, Lincoln, they reside in DesMoines where Evan is in the Colaborative Learning program through Wartburg Seminary; Rachel is a 7th grade math teacher in Fort Dodge, IA; Ryan is a freshman at Grand View University, majoring in Theology and Theater; and Levi is a sophomore who would rather spend his time outside than in front of an electronic device.  We also had the privilege of hosting 4 exchange students; Yuka Sakaguchi, Rito Mino, and Yoshito Hirohara all from Japan, and Pan Taweephonsomkiat from Thailand.

I enjoy reading, working in the yard, spending time with my family, and all things Badgers, Brewers, and Packers.
